This week

Caroline is trying not to panic about imminent dental surgery. For today only, coffee has been replaced with lemon balm and mint tea. Once done, she can get back to her brilliant clients AND coming up with some fun marketing plans for Trusts and Major Donors 2024 - the conference she’s curating for Fundraising Everywhere.

If you’re a trusts or major gifts fundraiser and you fancy a cosy December afternoon of the best training and development (because who doesn’t want 2025 to be AMAZING?) - you can grab your ticket here.

Today’s article

Back in the summer, when I (Caroline) was preparing to return to work after a lazy few weeks of dog walks, housework and gardening (yes, I am a retired person waiting to happen) I heard the news that a bid I’d worked on with a client back in April had been successful.

The charity had been awarded the game changing sum of £1.9 million.

Extraordinary. I couldn’t have been happier for them.

Last year, I wrote a post which brought together the commonalities and patterns I’ve seen across all the ‘big wins’ of my career. I wanted to revisit the post to see if my client’s path to seven figures was similar.

Below, for our paid subscribers is a new and improved version of the article which takes you step by step through the factors which led to massive fundraising success for each.

Have a great week,

In the past two three years, I have supported three four different organisations to secure multi-year, six and seven (woooo!) figure grants.

The organisations themselves are incredibly different – they couldn’t be more divergent in their structure, their purpose and their ambition.

But the multi year grants had a number of things in common and I’m excited to share these with you all today.
